Here are five of our favorite ways to rock a blouse.

Stud That Collar—It's just good timing that dickies are popular
nowadays, and you can find studded, bejeweled collars at specialty shops. If
you want to make one yourself, it's an easy DIY project, too. Just grab a glue
gun, an old shirt, some jewels and a glass of wine—make an evening out of it!
Balance the Patterns—Patterned blouses haven't seen the light of day since
the '70s, but we don't have to wear 'em with crushed velvet bellbottoms like
our parents did. Instead, tuck it into a slim-fit dark skirt or trouser to minimize
the flair.

Peek-a-Boo—Worn with a shrunken sweater, a blouse can provide
the perfect backdrop to this season's patterned jumper. Make sure the collar
and the bottom of the blouse can peek out, just for fun.

Brave the Sheer—Depending on how daring you are, a sheer shirt can be
made more modest with either an opaque bra or a sleek camisole. Either leave it
untucked and pair it with a high-waisted skirt or pants, or tuck it in for more
of a clean, daytime look.

DIY A Bow-Tie—Grab a piece of good quality ribbon and loop it under
the collar of a blouse. Create a loose bow-tie and get ready for the
compliments to start pouring in.
